Ireland West Airport Knock 2012/13 Winter flight schedule now on sale - over 15,000 weekly seats to and from the UK and Spain

Ireland West Airport Knock are delighted to announce details of its winter 2012/13 schedule which is now on sale. This winter there will be 15,000 weekly seats to and from 9 scheduled destinations in the UK and to/from Lanzarote in Spain. There is an unrivalled choice of destinations for people living in the West, North West and Midlands regions of Ireland with four of Europeans leading airline brands servicing the airport including Aer Lingus, Aer Lingus Regional, Flybe and Ryanair, offering great choice combined with great low fares.

UK destinations this winter include a new daily Birmingham service with Aer Lingus Regional, Edinburgh and Manchester with Flybe, London Gatwick with Aer Lingus and Bristol, East-Midlands-Nottingham, Liverpool, London Luton and London Stansted with Ryanair. For winter sun lovers the popular weekly service to Lanzarote will operate every week on a Thursday with Ryanair throughout the winter period. Destinations such as Bristol, Liverpool and East-Midlands-Nottingham are exclusive to Ireland West Airport Knock, offering the only connectivity between the entire West of Ireland region and these popular UK cities, with the daily Liverpool service in particular welcomed by the thousands of Liverpool supporters who fly over each week for football matches.

Despite the difficult economic climate the Airport enjoyed a record breaking summer season with over 530,000 passengers passing through the airport. The introduction of new mainland European services from Dusseldorf with Lufthansa and Barcelona, Frankfurt, Milan and Paris with Ryanair brought a significant boost bringing an estimated 14,000 new tourists to the region generating in the region of €7m in tourist spend for the local economy.
