Update 09:00am - Thursday 26th May 2011

All flight restrictions in Europe have now been lifted after disruption caused by ash clouds from the Grimsvotn volcano in Iceland. The volcano has now died down and is no longer ejecting ash.

All Irish airports are operating normally and the Irish Aviation Authority has confirmed that there will be no impact on Irish airspace for at least the next 36 hours.

The latest forecasts suggest the skies will remain clear for some days. European air traffic agency Eurocontrol has said it does not expect any significant disruption to air travel in Europe today.

However, passengers are still advised to check with their airlines before travelling.
