Ireland West Airport Knock to hold Europes first ever ‘Airport Open Evening’ for the public on Friday 13th August 2010

Ireland West Airport Knock is excited to announce that it will be holding Europes first ever ‘Airport Open Evening’ for the public on Friday 13th August 2010.

Between 7pm and 10pm the Airport will be opening its doors to the general public to come along and bring the kids for an evening of shopping, entertainment and good fun.  Admission and car parking is free and the Airports retail shop will be opened to the public where shoppers will be able to choose from some of the best brands from home and around the world at prices that wont be beaten downtown.  On the night there will be up to 40% off downtown prices on well known brands such as Clinique Skincare, Smashbox Make Up (Free make up demonstrations on the evening), Urban Decay and a host of leading aftershave and perfume brands such as, Jean Paul Gaultier, Calvin Klein, Dior and much more – offering shoppers the chance to stock up on their favorite brands at unbeatable low prices!

With a great selection of clothing for both adults and kids, traditional Irish giftware designer handbags, kids toys and lots more there is something for all occasions whether it’s a last minute essential or a special gift you’ll find it here - you can even start stocking up for Christmas early!  Mid West Radio will be broadcasting live from the airport between 8pm and 10pm on the evening with live interviews competitions and great music promised all evening.

To mark this special occasion the first 20 people into the retail shop to spend €50 or more will be entered into a special draw to win a sun holiday for two.  The draw will take place live on Mid West radio where one lucky shopper will walk away with a dream holiday.  On the night everyones a winner as there will be giveaways galore on the night for lucky shoppers!

It promises to be a fun filled evening for all the family with face painting and a puppet show for the kids performed by the hugely popular ‘Kids Party Club’. 

There will also be free tours of the Air Traffic Control Tower for kids and adults alike where you will get a behind the scenes view of how our expert air traffic controllers make each and every flight smooth and above all, safe for passengers – if your lucky you might see a couple of planes take off and land on the runway as well!.
