Galway Bay Sailing Club is 40 year’s old this year and to celebrate the club organised its biggest sailing event ever, with almost 140 boats from the Western sailing clubs and around the country competing, to coincide with the Volvo Ocean stopover which is said to have exceeded all expectations in terms of the number of visitors attracted to Galway and the West this summer.
As a special prize for the event, Ireland West Airport Knock in association with tour operator partner, Concorde Travel and Tours, gave away a €1,000 voucher towards a fantastic sailing holiday in Croatia to one very lucky Longford winner, Patricia Ward. Flying direct from Ireland West Knock this summer, Patricia can look forward to exploring well over a thousand islands (the vast majority of them completely uninhabited and yours to explore), an intriguing coastline, beautiful Mediterranean towns and villages, excellent wind conditions and, best of all, hundreds of miles of crystal clear sea to sail on.
Whether a seasoned sailor with thousands of blue miles under your hull, or simply an adventurous holidaymaker who has decided to go sailing for the first time, Croatia will welcome you with open arms and a sunny smile. Indisputably Europe's hot-spot for nautical holidays with its reliable winds, excellent and ever-improving marina facilities and sheltered harbours, sailing around Croatia's coastline is an enticing and unique experience.
Whatever you are looking for on your holiday, you will find it in Croatia; night life and the cultural attractions of cosmopolitan cities and towns, boat excursions to the Islands, heavenly beaches, ancient towns - Croatia has it all! Concorde Travel and Tours, specialists in Croatian holidays for over 20 years, operate every Saturday from Ireland West Knock to Croatia until the end of September.
