Ireland West Airport Knock Is Surprised At Ryanair`s Decision To Cancel Their Gatwick Service

Ireland West Airport Knock is very surprised and disappointed that Ryanair have decided to cancel their daily service from Ireland West Knock to London Gatwick, with effect from the 30th October next.

Robert Grealis, Director of Finance and Operations at the Airport said:
“This is a surprise and a great disappointment to the airport. This route has shown dramatic increases in passenger traffic year on year. Last year some 72,000 passengers were carried on this Ryanair route. This year to the end of June over 48,000 people used the route".

Ryanair have informed the Airport that this route has been dropped to accommodate new routes in the Ryanair network. Nevertheless the daily Ryanair routes to both Stansted and Luton will be maintained.
"We have begun work on finding a replacement airline for what is clearly a perfectly viable and sustainable route and we are hopeful that we can replace this service to the greater London area in the near future”.
