On Friday 17th November 2006, Ireland West Airport Knock Fundraising Committee hosted their Fourth Annual Gala Night, which took place at the Belmont Hotel, Knock. The successful evening was held in aid of four wonderful local charities; Mayo Roscommon Hospice, Croi, Hope House and Mayo Down’s Syndrome.
The event was a major success thanks to the contributions of many generous businesses and people. The entertainment was provided by Flamingo, The Hennessy Brothers and The Coleman School of Dancing. Another highlight of the night was the charity auction which was ran by Paul Claffey of Mid West Radio. Some of the fantastic items which were put under the hammer included: ski and sun holidays, West Life tickets, Hotel breaks, plasma TVs, flying lessons and plenty more for everyone to bid on.
A spokesperson from the committee said: ‘The Ireland West Airport Knock Fundraising Committee would like to thank everyone who supported the evening through their generous sponsorship and donations. It would be impossible to thank everyone individually but each individual who donated their money and time has made a difference to four worthy causes that contribute so much to our community.’
The total amount raised has not yet been disclosed as donations are still being made. If you would like to make a donation please contact Ireland West Airport Knock at 094 936 8100.
